Hello, I’m Natalia Baykalova. I create contemporary paintings about hope, closeness, and inner balance. My series The Hope explores hands and sky as symbols of connection and light. In Hakama, I work with the body, fabric, and strong light to speak about presence and self-acceptance. I paint in oil on canvas and often combine painting with textile elements. My work is calm, emotional, and deeply human.

The Hope Series
The Hope is a series of paintings focused on hands suspended against an open sky. Here, hands become a symbol of presence, vulnerability, closeness, and belief. The sky is not a background, but a space of breath and possibility. Within it, hands reach, touch, or simply exist — between uncertainty and trust. This series is not about drama, but about quiet strength. About hope that lives in a gesture, in light, and in the act of reaching out.
The Hakama series by contemporary artist Natalia Baykalova is about inner balance, presence, and quiet strength. The hakama skirt becomes a symbol of discipline, stability, and respect for one’s inner world. It is not about tradition as a costume, but about a state of mind. These paintings are created for collectors who value emotional depth, contemporary figurative art, and works that bring calm, warmth, and meaning into space.
Thread is a series by contemporary artist Natalia Baykalova, where oil painting meets wool threads. Threads are not decoration — they are a metaphor of connection. A thread links one point to another, one thought to the next, the past to the future. In this series, threads connect body, space, and time. These works are about continuity, inner tension, and quiet movement forward. Not embroidery, but painting expanded by thread.
The Outcasts Series The Outcasts is a series by contemporary artist Natalia Baykalova, created mainly in 2020–2021. It began with rejected canvases — works the artist once set aside. In 2020, Baykalova returned to these paintings, reworking them with neon spray paint and oil. What was once failure became freedom. This series is about releasing fear, trusting the idea, and turning rejection into strength. A large part of The Outcasts has already been sold.
