The Hope No.13 — Out of the Frame is a mixed-media painting from the Thread series, originally created earlier and reimagined by the artist in 2026.
The composition shows few hands reaching toward each other against a luminous blue sky with drifting clouds. Sunlight touches the skin, turning the gesture into something almost sacred — a quiet moment of connection and awakening.
The central hand, turned toward the sun with its palm open, becomes the focal point of the work. Its contour is stitched with bright yellow wool thread. These visible stitches create a striking dialogue between realistic oil painting and tactile textile elements.
The surface of the canvas is framed by an unexpected intervention: a wide border sewn entirely with vibrant magenta wool thread. The thread is thick, textured and almost wild, forming a soft yet powerful frame through which parts of the raw canvas remain visible. Because of this physical presence, the work moves beyond painting and becomes an art object.
The contrast between the calm sky and the expressive wool frame reinforces the meaning of the title. The hands seem to reach beyond the boundaries surrounding them. The frame becomes a metaphor for the limits imposed by society — and those we create for ourselves. The gesture suggests a moment of courage: the decision to step outside those limits and move toward one’s true self.
The work combines painting, thread and sculptural presence to express a simple yet powerful idea — the human desire to grow beyond the frame.
